What these calculators are for
Workforce Metrics Desk is a set of free calculators for people who work out headcount, turnover and pay: HR teams, managers, small business owners, payroll and compensation staff, and employees checking a figure. Each page answers one question with numbers you can check, such as the employee turnover rate for a period, the full time equivalent of a part-time team, a Bradford factor score, a compa ratio, where a salary sits in its range, or the new pay after a raise.
Every calculator works the same way:
- Shows the working. Under each result is the formula filled in with your numbers, so you can check it or explain it to a colleague.
- Print or save. “Print / save result” gives a one-page sheet with your inputs, results, the calculation steps and the date. Save it as a PDF from the print dialog.
- Share a link. The address of the page holds your inputs, so a copied link opens the same calculation.
- Private. Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, and there is no account.
The results are arithmetic on the numbers you enter. Organisations, contracts, policies and countries define terms such as turnover, attrition, FTE, absence and the Bradford factor differently, so check the definition that applies to you. The tools give no HR, legal, payroll or tax advice and never say what a result means for any person. You may use the results in your commercial work, including HR reports, policies and client documents.
